Greek Island Cruises

Day cruises are a perfect way to discover some of the neighbouring Greek Islands, whilst soaking up the sunshine and cruising the Ionian Sea in style!

Olympic Holidays offer passengers an amazing day cruise consisting of three Island hops, starting in Kefalonia, heading to Meganissi and Scorpios (famous island owned by the Onassis family), and finishing off in Lefkas (Lefkada) before heading back to Kefalonia.

Let's set sail!
The cruise ship sets sail at the port of Agia Efimia in Kefalonia, heading towards its first Island stop of Meganissi. Along the way, passengers can expect breathtaking mountainous views of pure greenery, providing ample photo opportunities. Watch out for dolphins, especially in the Summer months when breeding season is high. Tip: Ensure you regularly top up on high factor sun cream throughout the trip and wear a hat to avoid heat stroke and over sun exposure. This can be very deceiving on the ship, as the wind is constantly blowing. Also drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Meganissi
The cruise first island stop is Meganissi, where the ship sails into the magnificent cave of Papanikolis. These caves can only be reached by boat and are absolutely stunning! They provide great photo opportunities before the ship ports in the village of Spartochori. Here, there is an opportunity for refreshments and a walk around this pretty village. Once visitors walk up the stairway, they are presented with stunning views across the Island.

Scorpios
The second island hop on this cruise is Scorpios, a private island once owned by the famous Aristotle Onassis and his family. Here, the guide will provide some details of the tragic story of the Onassis family, whilst guests view the eye-catching pink house, which was original built for Aristotle Onassis's then wife, Jackie Kennedy. The Scorpios island can only be viewed from the cruise ship, as it remains private and guarded at all times. Scorpios island has been left to the only remaining Onassis family member, Athina, the granddaughter of the late Aristotle Onassis, who wants to sell the island. There have been many offers to purchase Scorpios from rich and famous celebrities, including Madonna and Bill Gates. Passengers can view the villas situated on the island and luxurious mosaic port, where the family yachts would dock. The cruise ship drops its anchor here, for passengers to swim in the nearby beach.

Lefkas (Lefkada)

The final stop on this three island cruise is stunning Lefkas. This beautifully green island is simply stunning with crystal clear, long stretch beaches and picturesque scenery. Here, passengers can sample some delicious Greek food and fresh fish in the many local taverns. Passengers can purchase souvenirs, swim, walk and explore the surrounding area before sailing back to Agia Efimia in Kefalonia.
